1. Use social media. Take a photo of your empty and ask folks to give.

  2. If you’d like to build up a surplus, host a food drive (or two) at an organization or business with which you affiliate

  3. Involve your neighbors! Bonus: a door-to-door food drive maintains social distance.

  4. Have an auction instead of a yard sale. Use your social media profile and name a starting bid (two cans). You’ll clear your clutter and collect donations! (Thanks to Ruth Kobrin for the idea.)

  5. Be creative, like Ruth.

  6. Be yourself. If none of these things is a good fit for you, know that what you can do is enough and that mini pantries have “seasons.”
