Ten years ago, Todd Bol built the first Little Free Library® as a tribute to his mother, who was a teacher and book lover. Today, there are over 75,000 Little Free Libraries in 88 countries. In 2016 Little Free Library inspired the first Little Free Pantry, which has also become an international movement.
Todd's "little" idea captured the public imagination, inviting neighbors to re-center community, giving, trust, calling us to our best selves. Todd's "little" idea, spirit-breathed...beautiful magic...changed the world.
Todd Bol, founder of Little Free Library, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in early October and passed away October 18, 2018, at the age of 62.
Across the country, Little Free Library and mini pantry stewards place white ribbons to remember him.
